In case you missed the announcement, INCCA is currently looking to actively involve early career conservators in our network. We are expanding our Steering Committee to include an early career conservator on a fixed-term basis. This position will be a rotating one, enabling a new appointment every two years. If you are interested, send a one-page CV and a short statement about why you would like to join the committee and what you would like to do during the period (300 words max) to info@incca.org by the 10th of February.
Following that, if you are based in the Asia Pacific region, our regional group, INCCA-Asia Pacific is also inviting members to join the regional working group! Some previous projects include INCCA Café and Talks with M+ Museum. Send a short statement about your experience and interests to incca.ap@gmail.com by the 10th of February.
Coming up, we have INCCA (Book) Talk with Thea van Oosten on the 9th of February at 5pm CET! Thea is a conservation scientist, educator, and internationally regarded expert on the behaviour and properties of plastics. Last year, she published a rich and extensive guide for conservators, curators, collectors, and students, drawing on many years of research and teaching with the book Properties of Plastics – a Guide for Conservators. If you haven’t registered for the Talk yet, you can do so here.
Lastly, you can find the recaps and recordings of INCCA Talks (and one Café) from the previous year on the INCCA website! You can have an overview of them on the INCCA Talks and INCCA Cafes pages. :)
Cheers,
INCCA Steering Committee
