Hello INCCA Community,
After the great response to the INCCA Revisiting Interviews: The Artist Assistant, we are thrilled to announce INCCA Revisiting Interviews Part II: Oral History, A Tool to Re-Center the Narrative. As conservation embarks on its own scrutiny of our practices and tries to open our field and its canon, what can we learn from existing projects in allied fields? What are the challenges, complexities, pitfalls, sensitivities, and rewards of this work? Join us with Kristin Juarez (Oral Histories and Artist-Centered Research at the Getty Research Institute) and Erica Wall (A vehicle for transformational change: Building the Lunder Institute Audio Archive) on 31st October PST 9am / EST 12pm (Amsterdam 5pm / London 4pm / Gweru 6pm / Seoul 1am / Mexico City 10am / LA 9am) by registering here. Learn more here.
On 3rd October, we hosted INCCA Café: Student & Early Career Research pt.3. Questions following the presentations (by Aurora Cairoli, Rosemie Coppens, Marta Collado Barcina, and Dea Moreno) allowed the speakers to discuss with the 25 participants more freely the challenges, limitations, and practicalities of their research, such as the unpredictability of nature and the climate, as well as their aims for future research. Their talks demonstrated how important it is to continue to share ideas within the conservation community to help expand our knowledge on the treatment of complex contemporary artworks. Read the full recap here.
We have more exciting programme coming soon. Stay tuned!
All the best,
INCCA Steering Committee
