In this newsletter, we would like to hint again (particularly to the early careers in our community ;) that the Call for participation! – INCCA Student Café pt.4: Challenges of Contemporary Materials is open for one last week. In this fourth edition, we will focus on the challenges of contemporary materials in the conservation of contemporary art. If you’d like to participate, please fill in the participation request form here by 22nd November.
Another upcoming event - this December, INCCA will delve into the conservation of LEDs with a particular focus on Jenny Holzer’s work. Over two sessions (5th and 12th December) and through several case studies and contributions, we’ll explore topics such as documentation, ethics and how to manage institutional memory, as well as LED technology and aspects of repair and replacement. In an informal setting, we hope to generate productive discussions that can benefit conservators working with these complex works and technologies. You can find more information here.
