Dear INCCA Community,

Greetings to everyone!

We would like to invite you to join us at the upcoming INCCA Café: Student & Early Career Research pt.2, taking place on 16th May, 6pm CEST. Presentations will be given by Anna Cecylia Brzóstowicz, Erica Loh, Kinga Klemińska, Lucas Mantel and Caroline Longo. Topics will touch upon artist’s materials, conservation materials and treatment examples for the preservation of contemporary art, including ageing tests on synthetic paints, adhesives for microcrystalline wax, treating MDF and chipboard, the reconstruction of cellulose nitrate eyeglass frames and the materials used by Polish artist Bronisław Kierzkowski. This will be followed by an open and informal conversation with all speakers and participants. For better language accessibility we provide English live caption and Polish AI translation in this event. Learn more about the speakers and register via this link. See you there!

On another note, We extend a special invitation to conservators at all career stages in the field of contemporary art preservation, with a focus on encouraging participation from the Asia Pacific region, to share their new, ongoing, or recently completed case studies related to the acquisition of contemporary artworks in a new INCCA Café event - INCCA-AP Café: The Conservator’s role in the acquisition process, a tale of evolving protocols? How do you manage the acquisition of artworks that are constantly evolving or that require the replication of parts? And how do you document conceptual, performance-based, interactive, environmental, or sensory-related artworks for an acquisition? If you wish to present your project, kindly send an email to by 12th May 2024 with your project abstract. For more information, read the post here.

All the best,

INCCA Steering Committee
