We would like to wish you early happy holidays as we approach the end of the year.
In this end-of-year edition, we would like to share an exciting meet-up between INCCA Asia Pacific and INCCA Korea. On November 9th and 10th, eleven INCCA Korea members explored M+ in Hong Kong, with its bustling exhibitions and installations. Alessandra Guarascio, INCCA Asia Pacific coordinator and a member of the M+ Conservation team, organised a program that welcomed the South Korean cohort composed of representatives from the Leeum Museum of Art, the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Arario Museum, and private studios. Discussions centred on sustainability in collection environment management, working with local industries and institutions, challenges in contemporary art conservation, and potential future collaborations between the two groups. Such gatherings for Asian contemporary art conservation professionals are rare, providing a valuable networking opportunity. We look forward to fruitful collaborations in the future! Read more about the meet-up here.
For next year, we are organising INCCA Café: Student & Early Career Research; for this Café, INCCA is calling for participation! Students and early career conservators (2 years post-graduation) of all disciplines - paintings, paper, textiles, sculpture, time-based media etc. – are invited to present their new, ongoing, or recently completed research projects on contemporary art conservation alongside their peers. This Café is scheduled on 14th March 2024, CET 1pm, and the deadline for applications is 21st January 2024. Send your application request to info@incca.org along with your presentation topic and abstract. Find more information about the call here.
Last but not least, we’ve published the recap of the Speed mentoring session at Future Talks 023here. In total, 50 speedy meetings were held in a fast-paced and informal environment, leading to new connections and professional relationships. Follow our social media (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook) so you don’t miss any opportunity like this in the future!
