Contemporary art is increasingly complex and ephemeral. This seminar aims to offer some approaches to the current state of Contemporary art conservation around four thematic tables. With the multidisciplinary method as a general framework, the first table explores the artist’s voice and the collaboration between artists-conservators-art historians. The second table asks about possible conservation strategies for technological art and new media collections, with heritage digitization as the main challenge. The third table focuses on material complexities, with case studies based on plastic and organic materials problems. Finally, the fourth table focuses on the documentation of contemporary art through artists' archives both in the institutional, academic, and private spheres.
