Winter 1911. The painter Franz Marcs looks through his prism at his painting "Dog lying in the snow". How does this impact his art? This volume investigates, for the first time, the premises and implications of a little-known story. Marc's prismatic method is retraced with the help of art technological and scientific techniques.
