What is your education and/or training?
I'm an architect, also graduated in Critical and Curatorial Studies, living in São Paulo, Brazil. I've been working in art galleries and museums for the past 04 years and for most of this time I've been using my architect and curatorial background to help artist to find the best technical and conceptual solution for the exhibition they have in mind. For over a year now I've been working in Galeria Jaqueline Martins, a rising art gallery in São Paulo that focus not only in representing and selling contemporary artist but also in the study of conceptual practices from the 70's and 80's: artist that are not professionally active anymore but whose work should be preserved and brought to light. We are very open and love to welcome students and teachers to look through our files. Based on this side of our activities, I'm starting to develop inside the gallery a "conservation method" of all our exhibitions. Based on documentation, interviews, and all other possible material, I want to better document our projects from start to opening, trying to gather all the fragments that made the exhibition what it came to be. This way, we can conserve for the future not only the artist work, thinking and practice, but also the process of how and exhibition is developed and well-documented for the future. This is why I want to be a part of INCCA, to learn with others and share our work.
