What is your education and/or training?
Assistant Professor of Theory and Art History at the University of Salamanca, with a background in painting conservation and over two decades of experience across Europe and the U.S. My research explores contemporary artistic practices through the lens of material culture, the anthropology of art, and the dynamics of the art market. With a Ph.D. from Universidad Complutense de Madrid (summa cum laude), I've coordinated exhibitions and curated projects—including one focused on ecofeminism—and mentored student-led curatorial work at the Museo Reina Sofía. I've also led postgraduate programs in art market management and published widely on topics such as gold in contemporary art, sustainability, and authorship in the art market.
I am currently a member of the Research Group SU+MA [Universidad + Museo] and researcher on two competitive projects: ALMA - Visionary Women Artists in Spain: Spirituality, Feminism, and Utopia (1900-2000) (PID2023-146120NB-100) and SafeARTECH - Safeguarding Digital, Experimental, and Technological Art from Recent Decades in Spain: Perspectives, Challenges, and Opportunities (PID2024-155970NA-I00).
I'm passionate about interdisciplinary teaching, cultural heritage, and mentoring emerging curators and scholars.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) with professional fluency in Italian and French.
