What is your education and/or training?
Having graduated in 2011 from the Institut National du Patrimoine with a specialization in Sculpture, I completed my final thesis on the study and conservation-restoration of two kinetic works from the Musée d’art moderne de la ville de Paris: a lumino-kinetic work by Hugo Demarco and a Rotorelief by Marcel Duchamp.I continued to develop my expertise in contemporary art by regularly working with the Centre national Georges Pompidou, often in collaboration with the museum’s electromechanical engineers. I was also part of the team responsible for maintaining the museum’s collections and temporary exhibitions from 2012 to 2014. In 2015, I moved to the south of France, where I temporarily paused my work as a restorer to create an interdisciplinary festival centered around Pop Culture.
In 2020, I resumed my role as a conservator-restorer within a SCOP in Alès (30), where I currently work on projects primarily related to contemporary art.
I have also worked for the Museum Tinguely in Basel, Switzerland, and the MUDAM in Luxembourg, and have written several articles on the conservation-restoration of electromechanical artworks.
This work is thanks in part to Marie-Hélène Breuil and Cécile Dazord, whom I met during my studies, as their group INCCA France was focused on the conservation challenges of contemporary artworks affected by technological obsolescence.
Since 2022, I have been working on the monumental electromechanical artwork Onde du Midi by Elias Crespin at the Louvre Museum, acting as the intermediary between the artist, his team, and the Louvre’s Service de l’Histoire for the maintenance of the piece (public contract running until 2024).
In January 2024, I coordinated the conservation-restoration work on Joseph Kosuth’s neon artwork at the Louvre Museum.
I have held the electrical qualifications B0, B1V, B2V, BR, BC in Low Voltage (BT), and H0V in High Voltage (HTA) for several years, as I primarily work on installations and artworks requiring electrical interventions.
