Karen Earle Lile, B.A. with Highest Honors, University of Texas at Austin, is a member of the Preservation Artisan Guild, the International Network for the Conservation of Contemporary Art, and on the Advisory Council for the Treasure Island Museum. Lile served as conceptual artist for the United States Postal Service Building Bridges Special Postal Cancellations and ceremonies 1996-2023 where she worked with cities, venues, museums, mayors and postmasters to create pictorial cancellations and catalyst performance art installations at temporary post offices, celebrating history of symbolic importance in the USA. Lile is a direct descendent of William Swift, a freeman of the Worshipful Company of Leather Sellers, 15th in the order of precedence of livery companies in London, who immigrated to the Massachusetts Bay Colony in America in 1634.
