Thea Leotta is an emerging conservator specializing in modern materials, with a particular focus on plastics. She obtained her B.A. (Hons.) in History of Art from the University of Malta in 2021 and went on to complete her Master’s in Conservation of Cultural Heritage Objects at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, in 2024, specializing in modern materials.

For her dissertation, Thea collaborated with Riksantikvarieämbetet on a research project titled Exploring the Efficacy of Adhesives in Plastic Bonding: A Comprehensive Experimental Analysis with Emphasis on PVC-P Conservation.

Passionate about knowledge-sharing and interdisciplinary collaboration, Thea plays an active role in INCCA’s steering committee, working to bridge gaps between conservators in the field of modern materials conservation.
