Editor Technè: Brigitte Bourgeois

Number 37 was editied by Marie-Hélène Breuil & Cecile Dazord (coordinators of the Frech speaking group of INCCA).

This issue is devoted to the impact of technological change on the conservation and restoration of contemporary works.

After a theoretical approach to the subject, followed by an overview of the main initiatives undertaken to date, the phenomena of obsolescence and their impact on the conservation works are broken down into different areas - photography and film music, through the light works or moving motorized movements. The floor was then given to professionals dealing with such critical and complex issue of the technical documentation of these works. The volume ends with the evocation of recent exhibitions that showcases not without nostalgia for old or obsolete technology, and as such may become. Techne is in French, however some articles are in English and all have English summaries.
