Abstract
In contemporary art the variety of constructive techniques and the meaning network established among the artistic object, the space and the audience, are elements in evidence. Understanding these features is essential to the intervention of conservator-restorers on these art objects. From this perspective we developed the project "Conversation Between Partners: future artists and future conservators," a proposed interaction between artists and conservators-restorers. The essay is based on collecting data about the Visual Art' student's research through interviews conducted by graduate students in Conservation-Restoration of Movable Cultural Property, both from the School of Fine Arts -- UFMG. The activities were held during the course of Contemporary Art Conservation and Thematic talk, given by Prof. Dr. Magali Melleu Sehn. This trial resulted in an outline of the most appropriate methodology for conducting interviews among these professionals, revealing the artists' awareness regarding the quality of the materials they use and the expectations they have on the conservation of their work.
