Abstract

Glassfiber reinforced polyester resins have been – between few others – the construction material für design objects of the 1960s and 70s. So for desk and chair of the series »OZOO.600« by the french designer Marc Berthier, property of Museum für Angewandte Kunst Cologne. Both objects show after a yearlong exhibition journey at the beginning of the 1970s so many marks that until today they haven ?t been presented. In order to achieve a condition for future display, aspects to product lan- guage and significance of the both design objects, their material and his ageing are compiled, damages and their reasons explained and after discussing these facets a conservation treatment proposed. Adjacent considerations and tests for a potential realisation of the propsed treatment are made, whereas the attention is directed towards the completion of the losses with modified synthetic resins.
