Update: The deadline of this call has been extended to 31st May.
We particularly encourage participation from the Asia Pacific region in this endeavor.
How do you manage the acquisition of artworks that are constantly evolving or that require the replication of parts? And how do you document conceptual, performance-based, interactive, environmental, or sensory-related artworks for an acquisition?
We extend a special invitation to conservators at all career stages in the field of contemporary art preservation, with a focus on encouraging participation from the Asia Pacific region, to share their new, ongoing, or recently completed case studies related to the acquisition of contemporary artworks in a new INCCA Café event.
Three speakers will be selected, each allotted ten minutes to outline their processes around an ongoing or completed acquisition case. Key discussion points will include artist interviews, artwork staging, supplementary information, the development of institutional protocols and the conservator's evaluation criteria.
The Café will allow ample time for participants to ask questions following each presentation. Both professionals and students are encouraged to sign up and contribute to the dialogue.
If you wish to present your project, kindly send an email to info@incca.org by 12th May 2024 with your project abstract. (The deadline of this call has been extended to 31st May.)
The Café will take place on 11th July, 4pm HKT (Hong Kong 4pm/Amsterdam 10am/London 9am/Gweru 10am/Seoul 5pm/Mexico City 2am/ LA 1am).
