Conservation students of the Estonian Academy of Arts in Tallinn conducted two interviews with artist Merike Estna as part of a four-day workshop given by Sanneke Stigter of the University of Amsterdam, organized in collaboration with Hilkka Hiopp and Helen Volber of the Art Museum of Estonia, funded by the Erasmus+ programme. The interviews can be obtained from Kumu Art Museum, through INCCA-member Helen Volber.
The first interview took place in the Kumu Art Museum depot and focuses on the large scale installation “Blue Lagoon” in the collection of the Art Museum of Estonia. Topics are use of colour, the influence of exhibition space and reinstallation practicalities. The second interview took place in the artist's studio and includes more information about her use of materials and techniques, her background, and her latest work.
