Guidelines for INCCA groups

INCCA is a network of professionals connected to the conservation of modern and contemporary art and was established to meet the need for an international platform for information exchange. Conservators, curators, scientists, registrars, archivists, art historians and researchers are among its members.
 
To coordinate the contribution of information to the INCCA website and stimulate international collaboration, INCCA welcomes the formation of regional or thematic groups.
 
Depending on its size and scope, a group may form a Steering Committee to provide guidance on group activities. Group Steering Committees may form their own organisational governance. The group’s governing structure may differ from that of INCCA as a whole, but should support INCCA’s governing values.
 
Benefits of INCCA groups
  • Use of the INCCA name and logo for group projects, funding applications etc.
  • Being part of an established international network of professionals.
  • Access to the entire INCCA membership and broader INCCA mailing list for event and other news postings.
  • If the group does not have their own website a group page on www.incca.org can be provided.
Please note that although English remains the working language of INCCA as a whole, group pages on www.incca.org or separate group websites can be made in other languages.
 
Responsibilities of INCCA groups
  • Organise at least two group activities per year. These can be online or face-to-face.
  • Ensure group activities are communicated (at the very least) through the group page or website and the INCCA Linked In group.
  • Encourage group members to join INCCA and to contribute information to the INCCA website. Membership is free and can be done online.
  • Report to the INCCA Steering Committee on group activities at least twice per year.
Application process
To establish an INCCA group, a Group Coordinator should be designated, who will then submit a brief application for group affiliation to the INCCA Coordinator via info@incca.org. The application will be reviewed by the INCCA Steering Committee. Included in the application should be:
  • Group Coordinator’s name and contact information.
  • Description of the region or theme.
  • Description of the group’s aims, governing structure and (potential) membership.
The INCCA Coordinator will communicate the Steering Committee’s comments on the application to the Group Coordinator.
 
Termination of affiliation
The INCCA Steering Committee reserves the right to end affiliation with an INCCA group if:
  • The group’s activities do not support INCCA’s governing values.
  • The group’s members do not meet criteria for membership.
  • The group becomes inactive over time.
These guidelines for INCCA Groups were adopted on November 2, 2007.
