Art for the future
Results of five years of research brought together online
Over the past five years, the Cultural Heritage Agency of The Netherlands has carried out up-to-the-minute knowledge within a research agenda for collections management. Its nearly 60 studies are now available online and can be consulted in a visually attractive, bilingual publication on www.kennisvoorcollecties.nl/en/researchagenda/
The publication can be explored in various ways: Showcases offer magazine-like articles that highlight appealing research, for example the problem of water-sensitive oil paints , the colors from Hallstatt textiles or the technical history of works by the ‘old’ masters Van Gogh, Mondrian, Govert Flinck. Under the heading Expertise the agency’s fields of expertise can be consulted by category, such as ‘colour’, ‘plastics’ or ‘making and meaning’. And for those who are interested in the details of a project, there is Programmes that bundles all the projects in 5 separate chapters, like Collection risk management and Value assessment, that offer comprehensive guidelines for collection management.
A complete overview of recent research on moveable heritage is available with one click of the mouse, presenting all results in a detailed and easily accessible manner.
