What is your education and/or training?

I hold a BA in Conservation of Antiquities and Works of Art from the Technological Educational Institute of Athens (Greece), where I gained experience in ceramics, glass, metals, mosaics, stone, bones and waterlogged wood, and an MSc in Conservation Studies from UCL Qatar, where I specialised in contemporary art and modern materials with particular emphasis on plastics. In July 2020 I received my PhD in Conservation Science from UCL. My doctoral research investigated the cleaning of acrylics, particularly polymethyl methacrylate, with the use of aqueous solvent-gels. Current research includes the study of chemical and mechanical degradation of cellulose nitrate with camphor.
