What is your education and/or training?
I am currently in my second year of a Master's degree in Conservation of Easel Painting. I previously graduated with honors from the Master’s program in Conservation of Cultural Heritage at Lincoln University, where I developed a strong foundation in conservation practices and techniques. I hold a comprehensive education in conservation, specializing in paintings and objects. My formal training includes an internship at the University of Lincoln, where I gained hands-on experience in conserving various materials, including paintings, frames, metal, textiles, and leather. Additionally, I served as a teacher at the London School of Picture and Frame Conservation, where I collaborated with fellow educators to impart knowledge on painting and frame conservation techniques.I also completed a volunteer placement with The New Orleans Conservation Guild, where I focused on restoring artworks damaged by Hurricane Katrina. My practical skills were further enhanced through a freelance role at J. Manley Restoration, specializing in paintings on canvas and board. Ongoing professional development has equipped me with essential skills in documentation, condition assessment, and preventive conservation strategies.
