What is your education and/or training?

Alice Camoli (15/12/1993), in October 2012 she undertook a five-year path of “Restoration of Cultural Heritage” at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Verona, specializing in restoration and conservation of: Paintings on wooden and canvas supports; Carved wood artifacts; Furniture and wooden structures; Artifacts and processed synthetic materials, assembled and/or painted.
The accrued interest during the studies for contemporary art, led Camoli to approach the world of metals. During the final stage at the laboratory “Fucina Ervas di Alessandro Ervas” she had the opportunity to work on a Calder’s sculpture (“The cow”, 1971) located at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice. The restoration of the sculpture and the conservative question about the painted surface of the outdoor metal sculpture became her thesis. On November 30th 2017 she graduated cum laude.
In 2018 and 2019 she worked as conservation and restoration assistant at Ervas’s laboratory and contributed to meetings and calls organized by the “Italian Group of International Institute for Conservation” (IG-IIC).
From 1st April 2019 she is an intern at “Laboratorio Restauro Metalli e Ceramiche” of Vatican Museums. Currently she is carrying out a study about the conservation of reactive metal surfaces, such as the contemporary sculptures of Kengiro Azuma.
