The Matters is Media Art Project is one of the representative online resources for media art conservation, it was a collaborative effort together with the New Art Trust and its three partner museums, MoMA, SFMOMA, and Tate that provides practical guidelines and tools for the preservation and care of media artworks. The whole website is under the MIT license for source codes, and Creative Commons 4.0 for all content that allow anyone to share, copy and reproduce freely.
In 2020, we received a grant support from the National Culture and Arts Foundation of Taiwan during the Covid-19 epidemic. The Save Media Art Project hosted by the Digital Arts Foundation, Taiwan, was able to translate the website into Mandarin Chinese and published as a stand-alone website. We hope to spread the know how to collectors, museums, and galleries, those who use Mandarin and Chinese.
This project would not have happened without the greatest support from the MMA team who agreed on the translation project, our translators, website engineer, and the most importantly - peer review from two experts.
Just a reminder that this project is not offically organised by the Matters in Media Art team, but an independant project that follows the license agreement of MMA to make this project happen.
