Launch new INCCA website

Posted on Wed, 07/16/2008 - 13:09

The new INCCA website was launched on December 15th 2008. After six years, the original website was in need of a new look and improved navigation. In addition, the back end (content management system) was no longer suitable for the requirements of the network. The new website has been created using the free open source software Joomla!. This system is easy to use and extremely flexible. Joomla! is an online tool and thus information can be uploaded onto the website from any computer with access to internet. The layout (template) is also flexible which means that extra functions can be added when/if needed such as discussion fora, polls or even sub-sites for special projects.

The most significant change in the navigation has been improving access to good practice and methodology documents. These can now be found in the Resources menu under the appropriate subject heading and include finished student dissertations and theses. A Frequently Asked Questions section had been added as well as information about the website such as a sitemap, as well as a copyright and privacy statement and disclaimer.
Other useful additions to the website are the print and email buttons. On the top right of each webpage are two icons.  The print icon creates a print version of the text on the corresponding webpage. Use the email icon to send a link of the webpage via email to yourself or to someone else.
