Help Lead Research at Tate.
This is an opportunity to work with one of the most globally important art institutions within its ground-breaking Research Department. You will make a significant contribution by acting as Deputy to the Head of Collection Care Research.
You will work to ensure the smooth and well managed delivery of research projects within the department by co-ordinating, advising, monitoring and supporting the activities of Collection Care Research projects, and utilising your excellent financial and budget management skills. With your knowledge of the research funding environment in the UK and strong grasp of practice-driven research, you will also develop and write new research proposals in alignment to existing strategic priorities for Collection Care Research. In doing so you will work with a range of stakeholders across Tate, including colleagues outside of your immediate specialism.
As the role involves leading on the evaluations of Collection Care research projects for Tate, you will be well practiced in reflecting on project design and delivery, and able to identify and make changes and improvements. As a champion of multidisciplinary, collaborative and practice-driven research you will support the development of research capacity and help to create a vibrant research culture at Tate.
An excellent communicator, with exceptional written and oral communication skills, you will also play a major role in the development and implementation of a communication plan for Collection Care Research supporting the production of content across a range of mediums and representing Collection Care Research both internally and externally.
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail you thrive in the multidisciplinary environment of the museum and have a dynamic and flexible approach to working on project delivery.
Your experience of supporting the management of externally funded research projects and developing new grant applications will be essential as is your flexible and generous approach to supporting researchers within the museum.
This position is offered on a fixed-term contract of 2.5 years.
