Getty Vocabulary Databases: AAT and ULAN

Posted on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 - 08:01

The Getty vocabulary databases are produced and maintained by the Getty Vocabulary Program. They are compliant with ISO and NISO standards for thesaurus construction. They contain terms, names, and other information about people, places, things, and concepts relating to art, architecture, and material culture. Access the vocabularies via this link:

The Art & Architecture Thesaurus (AAT) and the Union List of Artist Names (ULAN) are particularly relevant for INCCA and it is recommended to use these vocabulary databases for all documentation and search activities on the INCCA website.
