4th IIC Student & Emerging Conservator Conference October 2017

The IIC Student & Emerging Conservator (S&EC) Conferences aim to create a platform where conservation students and young conservators from around the world, as well as those in related disciplines and professions, can meet to discuss their aims, needs and expectations. The conferences allow the next generation of conservation professionals to learn from the experience and advice of professionals and share their plans for the future.

Following on from the successful previous IIC S&EC Conferences in London (2011), Copenhagen (2011) and Warsaw (2015), we are delighted to announce the fourth conference on the 12th & 13th October in Bern. It will be held over two days and consists of moderated panel discussions, studio visits and social events.

The title of the 2017 conference is inspired by the Swiss educational philosopher Joachim Pestalozzi, whose credo of 'Learning with Head, Heart, and Hands' is also very applicable to the conservation profession.

A team of 13 students confederated to the association sofea, who is responsible for the realization of the conference at the Bern University of the Arts - Switzerland.

We are very proud to welcome you here in our institution and look forward to our international collaboration.
