Investigation of a collection of historic (approx. 1915) polyisoprene rubber samples and artificially light aged samples of natural latex by vibrational spectroscopy (IR and Raman). The comparison with the theoretical degradation mechanism of polyisoprene rubber proves that the natural aging process and the artificial light aging are comparable.
