Zentrum fur Kunst (ZKM) und Medientechnologie Karlsruhe is a public-law foundation and an institution for research, cultural advisory and education. The aim of ZKM is to increase public awareness, understanding and appreciation of modern and contemporary art and time-based media.
ZKM is looking for an Assistant Conservator. Preferably as of 1 March 2013.
With this post ZKM is offering an exciting environment and the opportunity of gaining a deeper insight into the daily routine of a museum.
The offer is for junior job seekers educated to degree level, hold a recognised qualification in conservation and interested in modern and contemporary art.
Experience of working with museums and galleries as well as knowledge of modern materials and time-based media is desirable.
The applicant should have the ability to work independently as well as in a team with a range of people. He/She should have a sound knowledge of English and a basic to sound knowledge of German.
The anticipated duration of the contract would be one year with the possibility of extension for another year. The post is graded as a fixed amount per month following the German compensation arrangement for former Junior Doctors.
