What is your education and/or training?
I am an artist and emerging curator based in Manchester. I am a member of Bankley Studios & Gallery, and my practice revolves around photography and writing. This year I completed a 6 month internship with the exhibitions and displays team at Tate, where my interest in conservation was nurtured with a particular focus on painting. For example, I assisted the conservators with the acquisition preparations for a work by Vivian Suter. The work poses a number of issues for conservation, created in the open environment of her rainforest studio. I really enjoyed condition checking the works and the conversations with the artist about the intention for the work to be preserved. I would love to continue engaging with best practice and discussions in the conservation of contemporary artworks, and being a member of the INCCA would benefit my career development as I search for work with Museums & Galleries. If you would like to discuss my application further, please feel free to contact me on the details provided. Many thanks, Bella
